The Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition (DHN) is seeking a Teaching Kitchen Operations and Food Systems Coordinator to manage the daily operation of our teaching kitchens. This position will be responsible for coordinating and managing the kitchen(s) schedule and operations; supervising students utilizing the kitchens as part of required coursework and/or experiential learning opportunities; coordinating procurement, and production for the teaching kitchens; and, in collaboration with colleagues in DHN, developing nutritious standardized recipes and coordinating kitchen operations for service of meals to the university community through our Lemon Tree restaurant.

The successful candidate will have experience managing a commercial kitchen as well as certification as a ServSafe Food Protection Manager and ServSafe Instructor and Examination Proctor (or the willingness to obtain these certifications). Additionally, the successful candidate will create a supportive learning environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, safety, and professionalism.

This position will be responsible for supporting faculty and staff conducting food labs (Principles of Food Preparation, Quantity Food Production, and Introduction to Culinary Medicine) as well as providing guidance, training, and supervision to student volunteers with the Campus Kitchen at the University of Kentucky.

To qualify for this position, the required education / experience is Master’s degree and three (3) years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years related experience OR Associate’s degree and seven (7) years related experience.
