ccupations, and Administrative Regulations committeeThe Council of State Governments (CSG) is partnering with the Department of Defense (DoD) and The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) to support the mobility of licensed dietitians through the development of a new interstate compact. This additional licensing pathway will facilitate multistate practice among member states and reduce the barriers to license portability. The Dietitian Licensure Compact has been enacted in more than seven states and has reached activation status; however, compact privileges are not yet being issued. The implementation process for the compact will take around 12 to 24 months before compact privileges are being issued. As additional states (like Kentucky) join, they will join the commission to help shape the operational foundation of this historic initiative. For more details, visit https://dietitianscompact.org. Kentucky’s Dietitian Licensure Compact Status/Timeline
Kentucky has not yet passed Dietitian Licensure Compact legislation, but we are close!
1/7/2026:. House Bill 92 was introduced by its sponsor, Representative Vanessa Grossl (Fayette
and Scott).
1/14/2026: HB92It was referred to the House Licensure, Occupations, and Administrative Regulations committee.
2/25/2026: Rep. Grossl and Whitney Duddey, KAND’s Consumer Protection Coordinator, testified at the House Licensing, Occupations, &
Administrative Regulations Committee. The committee voted unanimously in favor of the bill with a committee substitute.
3/3/2026: The Senate Licensing & Occupations committee rolled the contents of HB92 (an act relating to dietitians) and HB 628 (an act relating to the Athletic Trainer Compact) into HB36 (an act relating to respiratory care). HB36 was amended to read “an act relating to interstate licensure compacts.”
