Regarding COVID 19 and ANCE 20/20

Earlier this week, we announced we would proceed with our annual conference. Due to the novel COVID-19 outbreak, the KAND Board, in conjunction with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, has made the difficult decision to postpone our conference schedule for April 16-17, 2020.

With growing evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted quickly and easily, and increasing number of organizations and institutions implementing protective measures, the justification to postpone our conference became clear. While it was our hope to provide attendees with a successful conference, our concern for the health and well-being of our members and communities is more important; we appreciate your support in this decision-making process to prevent further spread of the virus.

The Madison Event hall has agreed on the new dates of August 27th and 28th with a pre-conference planned for August 26th. We will still also be touring Jungle Jim’s international Market on the evening of the 27th should any of you be interested. If you had already submitted exhibitor payment for the conference, it will be honored at the later date(s).

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our conference planning committee or to me should you have any questions or concerns.

In the meantime, you may cancel any travel arrangements related to our conference, including rooms booked at sites other than Hotel Covington. We are currently working with Hotel Covington regarding the rooms in our reserved block which have already been booked. We will have more information on this very soon.

If you have already registered for the event, your registration will be honored for the conference date in the fall. If you would like a refund for your registration, please contact us directly.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but the health and safety of our members, their families, and the community is our priority. Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding. If you have any questions, please direct them to us at kentuckyand@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Susan Wilson
